Many people know and understand the power of the internet. But the question I get asked all the time is, can you do network marketing online?  The answer is a resounding, YES!

There are so many new opportunities to do network marketing and the internet has only expounded on those opportunities.

In the early days of MLM, how do you think people advertised?  They were told to go to their friends and family.  The concept was brand new to most people and there were many who were extremely open to a new form of making money.

Times have changed, however, because people have heard of the business model, and many do not feel it can work.  But there are still many people that are open to the idea of network marketing.  The problem is getting to those people.  Unlike your little town you may live in, or your mall that you have been to many times, online gives you the opportunity to reach hundreds and thousands of prospects each and every day.

The main thing that is different, but is also an advantage, is that you have the chance to create friendships and trust online before people enter into your business.  When you sponsor your family and friends, this is already a given, but when approaching people they don’t have that connection.

Let me give you three ways to start network marketing online.

1. Facebook – The whole idea behind Facebook is to gather friends in your network.  You can easily find people that are looking for great opportunities after you befriend them.  The key is to not pitch your business immediately, but to gain friendship first.

2. Blogging – Let people get to know them and give them back something first.  Have you ever heard of the idea that it is better to give than to receive?  This is true in so many respects.  Blogging allows readers to get to know you, and learn to trust you.  Then they will want to sign up with you.

3. Article marketing – Article marketing is another great way to give quality information to people and help them see the value that you provide before they sign up with you.  Teaching them how to do network marketing online, for instance, is something of value.

The thing you need to remember about network marketing online is that you no longer have that face to face ability that you have in person.  You need to be more than simply a voice, and show your personality and expertise to those that you are working with.  Don’t let the internet be a crutch, but an advantage.

Work From Home on Your Own Hours

What could be more wonderful than finding a great way to make money that lets you decide your own hours – when you’re going to work and for how long, or whether or not you should take a day off, or even whether you want to arrive at the office in your pyjamas, blue jeans… or even NAKED!

The true magic of Network Marketing is that you get to decide all those things, working from your own home. The great thing is that network marketing is a business venture that you can start out by devoting a relatively small amount of money and part time hours to and still create a second income. You don’t have to quit your regular job and jump in with both feet from the start. You can ease your way in to network marketing and out of your tired old job at a sane pace – one that is comfortable for you.

Most people start out with network marketing in this way. They keep working at their regular jobs and begin their home business in their free hours. This is a great way to do it, because it’s a risk minimizer. You still have your regular job with your regular income coming in for stability and security, but you also have the knowledge that you’re working towards something better.

At first, the money you make from network marketing is simply extra earnings. It brings in some more income for the little bit of time you’re spending on developing your business each week. But then, over time, you will see the earnings from network marketing increase. This side income is wonderful. It can help you pay off extra bills or save up for something – maybe a luxury cruise or a new car.

This is a great way to begin your network marketing business, starting small and building it into something huge. But don’t forget that even when you begin this way you have to be sure to treat it like a business, scheduling time every week to work on it. Make certain that you’re taking time to learn what it means to really be successful because the more you learn, the more your business will grow.

As you continue to work at your regular job, and also at your new business, building up your side income, you’ll notice that the network marketing income will start gaining on your regular job! Your part time network marketing income will slowly catch up with your full time job income. This is where things get really exciting!

Eventually, you will have the option of leaving your old job so that you can spend your work hours making more money with network marketing. At this point, you’re giving yourself the gift of freedom to be your own boss. You’ll have the option of saying good-bye to your old boss and a job that you probably didn’t like all that much, or that wasn’t paying you enough. Are you getting paid what you’re worth from your job right now?

When you work from home you set your own hours. Nobody tells you what to do, when to do it, and how much you’ll be paid for it. You are your own boss, and you are in complete control. It’s true that you still have to do work, there are no ways around that, but it’s pretty nifty when you can decide when you’re going in to “the office” and for how long instead of having your Boss do it for you.

If you decide that it’s time for a day off so that you can take your little one to the zoo, that’s up to you – you don’t have to ask for the day off. Or call in sick. Or take “vacation leave”. Or work over time to catch up. Your time is yours to do with as you please.

Starting small with your network marketing venture, while keeping your old job can be a very safe way to accomplish something life-changing. You need some time for your business to get off the ground. But once that happens, the sky is the limit!

How To Reach Your MLM Goals

Your success has little to do with speed and skill, but much to do with direction. It’s about the goals you set yourself, and even more about sticking to those goals!

The first step is to set SMART goals. Your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time Bound. They should also be written down. It’s no use having a goal about as powerful as an average New Years Resolution – “I want to earn more money”, “I want to work less”, “I want to set better goals”. You need a goal that keeps you awake at night, not one that makes you yawn.

The second step is to break your big goal down into lots of little goals. How many people to do you need to sign up to reach your goal? How many is that per year? How many per month? How many per day? Now what daily actions do you need to take in order to achieve your new teeny little goal? Work that out and celebrate every time you reach it.

The third step is to focus. People sometimes forget when they’re running their own MLM home business that they need to do things differently to how they do their regular job. You are now in business, you’re not simply an employee. You have no boss paid to make sure you stay focused, it’s all down to you. To a lot of people that’s a scary idea, but to some (you, if you’ve got this far!) this idea is liberating. You just need to find a way to maintain your focus and discipline. Organise your day, plan your actions, and don’t settle for anything less than a day you are proud of.

The fourth step is perseverance. You need to never give up. Never, ever. Itis your unquestionable drive to succeed that will give you the power to weather any storm, and outlast every one else around you. All you need to be able to do is keep on moving forward. Imagine you’re climbing a mountain. You will stumble, trip, and occasionally bump your head on rocks above you, but every single step you take is a step in the right direction, and with every step the view gets better and better. Keep your eyes on the goal, and keep on moving towards it. You will make it.

The fifth step is to use all help available to you. Go to every training course you can, read every book you can, learn from every one you can, and surround yourself with inspirational people. Use every resource available to you. Thousands of people have Been There and Done That before you, so use their experience. Woodrow Wilson, former President of the United States, put it best: “I not only use all the brains that *I* have, but all that I can borrow.”

The most important aspect of achieving your goals is to set them in the first place. It’s unbelievable how many people say “Yeah yeah, I know all about goal setting” but have failed to set goals and write them down. Don’t fall into this trap. There is a gigantic difference between knowing and doing. Set your goals now, and be like a postage stamp – stick to them until you get there!

Is Goal Setting Really Necessary For MLM Success?

How is your MLM success shaping up so far to what you want to achieve? Is it going well? Are you on track? Have you even set yourself a track?!

If you really want to succeed in this business you need to have a plan. You need to sit down with a pen and paper and work out your goals. Turn your hopes and dreams into targets with dates attached to them. Spend all afternoon doing this if you have to. You need a plan. Most people spend more time planning their next vacation than they do planning their entire lives. Then, shocked, they wake up one day and wonder why they haven’t been as successful as they are in their dreams. It’s no surprise at all though, is it?!

There is a reason Brian Tracy, the author and speaker, said “People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.”

A goal affects your mindset too, and can determine whether you are motivated enough to get up and do the necessary work. If your goal-less thinking is negative all the time – if you constantly think that your MLM success is going to be a long shot – then you probably won’t succeed. And that’s true even if your path is an easy one.

If you are focused and determined you will succeed in achieving all your goals, no matter how lofty they are. Goals make you focused, and focus achieves goals. It’s a virtuous circle.

Setting a goal is like setting the destination in your Sat Nav before you start driving off down the road. You need to know where you’re heading before you set out, otherwise you’ll just be wasting valuable time and energy getting lost and going off course. So many people set off in their new business without any kind of goal at all. This is a mistake. Are you going to be one of these people, or are you going to make goal setting a new part of your life?

Of course, goal setting is also about knowledge and education. You might find you need to learn more to give yourself the best possible chance of moving along the road towards your goal as quickly as possible.

Make sure you attend as many training events as possible, and learn from people who are already doing it. Read as much as you can – but learn from doing as well as observing.

The final thing you will need to help you with your goal setting endeavours is perseverance. You must recognise that there will be times when you cannot seem to find anyone interested in the products or opportunity, no matter what you do. But things do balance out in the end, and you will also have times when you are “on a roll” with success after success.

As you can see, goal setting isn’t just about choosing a goal and hoping for the best. There are lots of things you should be thinking about and focusing on – and if you persevere with it you will stand a much better chance of succeeding in MLM.
