How To Reach Your MLM Goals

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.” – Sydney Smith

Your success has little to do with speed and skill, but much to do with direction. It’s about the goals you set yourself, and even more about sticking to those goals!

The first step is to set SMART goals. Your goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time Bound. They should also be written down. It’s no use having a goal about as powerful as an average New Years Resolution – “I want to earn more money”, “I want to work less”, “I want to set better goals”. You need a goal that keeps you awake at night, not one that makes you yawn.

The second step is to break your big goal down into lots of little goals. How many people to do you need to sign up to reach your goal? How many is that per year? How many per month? How many per day? Now what daily actions do you need to take in order to achieve your new teeny little goal? Work that out and celebrate every time you reach it.

The third step is to focus. People sometimes forget when they’re running their own MLM home business that they need to do things differently to how they do their regular job. You are now in business, you’re not simply an employee. You have no boss paid to make sure you stay focused, it’s all down to you. To a lot of people that’s a scary idea, but to some (you, if you’ve got this far!) this idea is liberating. You just need to find a way to maintain your focus and discipline. Organise your day, plan your actions, and don’t settle for anything less than a day you are proud of.

The fourth step is perseverance. You need to never give up. Never, ever. Itis your unquestionable drive to succeed that will give you the power to weather any storm, and outlast every one else around you. All you need to be able to do is keep on moving forward. Imagine you’re climbing a mountain. You will stumble, trip, and occasionally bump your head on rocks above you, but every single step you take is a step in the right direction, and with every step the view gets better and better. Keep your eyes on the goal, and keep on moving towards it. You will make it.

The fifth step is to use all help available to you. Go to every training course you can, read every book you can, learn from every one you can, and surround yourself with inspirational people. Use every resource available to you. Thousands of people have Been There and Done That before you, so use their experience. Woodrow Wilson, former President of the United States, put it best: “I not only use all the brains that *I* have, but all that I can borrow.”

The most important aspect of achieving your goals is to set them in the first place. It’s unbelievable how many people say “Yeah yeah, I know all about goal setting” but have failed to set goals and write them down. Don’t fall into this trap. There is a gigantic difference between knowing and doing. Set your goals now, and be like a postage stamp – stick to them until you get there!

“Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything.” – Scott Reed

Is Goal Setting Really Necessary For MLM Success?

“The most important thing about goals is having one.” – Geoffry F. Abert

How is your MLM success shaping up so far to what you want to achieve? Is it going well? Are you on track? Have you even set yourself a track?!

If you really want to succeed in this business you need to have a plan. You need to sit down with a pen and paper and work out your goals. Turn your hopes and dreams into targets with dates attached to them. Spend all afternoon doing this if you have to. You need a plan. Most people spend more time planning their next vacation than they do planning their entire lives. Then, shocked, they wake up one day and wonder why they haven’t been as successful as they are in their dreams. It’s no surprise at all though, is it?!

There is a reason Brian Tracy, the author and speaker, said “People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.”

A goal affects your mindset too, and can determine whether you are motivated enough to get up and do the necessary work. If your goal-less thinking is negative all the time – if you constantly think that your MLM success is going to be a long shot – then you probably won’t succeed. And that’s true even if your path is an easy one.

If you are focused and determined you will succeed in achieving all your goals, no matter how lofty they are. Goals make you focused, and focus achieves goals. It’s a virtuous circle.

Setting a goal is like setting the destination in your Sat Nav before you start driving off down the road. You need to know where you’re heading before you set out, otherwise you’ll just be wasting valuable time and energy getting lost and going off course. So many people set off in their new business without any kind of goal at all. This is a mistake. Are you going to be one of these people, or are you going to make goal setting a new part of your life?

Of course, goal setting is also about knowledge and education. You might find you need to learn more to give yourself the best possible chance of moving along the road towards your goal as quickly as possible.

Make sure you attend as many training events as possible, and learn from people who are already doing it. Read as much as you can – but learn from doing as well as observing.

The final thing you will need to help you with your goal setting endeavours is perseverance. You must recognise that there will be times when you cannot seem to find anyone interested in the products or opportunity, no matter what you do. But things do balance out in the end, and you will also have times when you are “on a roll” with success after success.

As you can see, goal setting isn’t just about choosing a goal and hoping for the best. There are lots of things you should be thinking about and focusing on – and if you persevere with it you will stand a much better chance of succeeding in MLM.

To your success!

“Whoever wants to reach a distant goal must take small steps.” – Helmut Schmidt

If you think you’re new to goal setting, let me tell you you’re not! Ever since before you could walk you’ve been setting yourself goals, and achieving them, without thinking too much about it. Just think of how you learned to walk and run, and climb trees and ride bikes…. But when you reach adulthood you start to lose the natural drive and ability to dream that you had as a child.

Setting goals is your way of reawakening the Natural Achiever inside of you.

RIGHT NOW is the greatest time in all of human history to be alive. At no time in human history has it been possible for ANYONE and EVERYONE to achieve success beyond their wildest dreams. No matter what you want to achieve, you can do it when you set solid and realistic goals.

Let’s say you have a goal to earn $200,000 a year from your MLM efforts. That’s an excellent MLM goal! That kind of residual income would seriously change a person’s life.

But… if you have ever set a goal in the past you will know that you get an initial rush of enthusiasm and energy that propels you towards it, and once that has passed you can be struggling to maintain your enthusiasm. Like a balloon floating upwards, slowly deflating, eventually falling back to earth.

FACT: Even if you are doing well you will find it impossible to keep up your momentum 100% of the time toward your goal. If that’s your only target you have in your sights you might start thinking it’s all too impossible, as you wilt in the daunting shadow of your ultimate goal.

“I aimed way too high” you’ll start thinking, as that $200,000 goal looms larger and seems less attainable by the day.

So what do you do?

Simple – you set short term, smaller goals that act as markers en route to your big prize. Think of yourself as a marathon runner for a moment. Would you try and run 26 miles without taking on board any water on the way? Of course not – you’d be crazy to do that. Instead, you focus on that first refreshment marker in your mind, and think of that as your first goal. After that you focus on the next one. And you can do exactly the same thing with your MLM ambitions too.

This business is built around introducing people to the products and to the business opportunity. Now you might do your sums and discover that you need to introduce hundreds of people in order to have any real shot at achieving your goal. That would put a lot of people off – and it might even make you think you weren’t capable of doing it. But you are – you just need to refocus.

So make your first short term goal to get three people on board. Just three. Watch how you feel when you achieve it! Take them out to dinner – celebrate! You can then take that enthusiasm and delight and use it to carry it towards your next small, short term MLM goal.

Be like a child learning to walk. No child gives up after they fall over a couple time. You just get straight back up again and take another step. And another. And another. Keep your ultimate goal in sight, but put your focus on the short term goals.

Break your goal down into monthly achievements, and daily achievements, and work out what Daily Actions you need to take in order to stay on course. If you complete your daily actions you will naturally progress from stage to stage without losing enthusiasm or focus along the way. You may be surprised by how little Daily Action is required in order to get there…

So how is your goal plan looking? Make your MLM goals attainable by starting small and working your way up to the big ones – you’ll never look back!

MLM Goal Setting – Make It SMART

“A goal properly set is halfway reached.” – Abraham Lincoln

Are you smart? A lot of people aren’t when it comes to goal setting. But if you follow the formula I’m about to share with you, you can make sure you hit every goal, every time. It’s all about the type of goal you’re setting yourself.

So what is SMART, exactly? SMART is an acronym for the five specific requirements of successful goal setting:

1.S – specific

2.M – measurable

3.A – attainable

4.R – relevant

5.T – time bound

You see, many of us fail with our goals because they don’t have these 5 qualities. Let’s explore what this could mean to you and how to start using the new SMART method of goal setting to achieve your financial dreams and really set your business on fire!

S: Your Goal Must Be Specific! If you don’t have a SPECIFIC goal, how will you know where you are on your journey towards it? Instead of saying ‘I want a new car’ try something more like ‘I want a silver 2006 Pontiac Solstice Convertible Roadster’. Now you have a picture in mind of exactly what you want to achieve. The very fact that your goal now clearly defines what you want massively increases your chances of getting it.

M: Your Goal Must Be Measurable! Don’t just tell yourself you’d like earn lots of money – make it measurable by picking a number. Now you can chart your success and see how far along you are and what you need to do to achieve the success you desire.

A: Your Goal Must Be Attainable! Don’t make your goal so outrageous that you have no hope of reaching it. If your goal is to earn $10,000 a month residual income within 2 months, you might want to lower your sights to a more realistic and attainable level. If in your mind your goal is ridiculously unattainable, you won’t have the drive to achieve it. There’s nothing less inspiring than a goal that overwhelms you and causes you to take no action.

R: Your Goal Must Be Relevant! If your goal doesn’t get you passionate to achieve it, start over. Your goal can’t belong to someone else. Saying ‘I want to retire’ is a great goal, but if it means nothing to you then you won’t have any desire to achieve it. Pick something that is meaningful to you and you alone – forget what anyone else might think.

T: Your Goal Must Be Time Bound! Being time bound guarantees that you will have a far better shot at making your goals and dreams come true. How can you motivate yourself to achieve a goal if there is no deadline to do it by? A goal without a deadline is just a dream. Imagine how much homework you would have missed in School if they didn’t give you deadlines…

We all have dreams of earning more money. Setting goals for your home business can get you to those dreams, but you should remember to be SMART about the way you approach them.

The next time you start thinking about what you would like to achieve with your business, think about this five step process of goal setting before you do anything else, then write down your goals the good old fashioned way – with a pen and paper. By doing this you can ensure that you set up each and every goal in the best possible way.

The results you will get from SMART goals will be EXACTLY the results you were hoping for!

To Your Success!

The Power of a Phenomenal MLM Goal

“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” – Vincent van Gogh

What’s the biggest MLM goal you can think of? Would you like to be the Top Recruiter and Top Customer Gatherer in the company? The biggest earner by far? What about bringing in enough money to be able to go and build the home you want, exactly where you want it? phenomenal

You’ll know when you have a powerful goal in your mind. The sheer potential of it will blow you away. This isn’t just a goal to change a few things in your life – it will completely alter it as you know it, and propel you into another world altogether. Set the kind of long term goal a millionaire would be proud to set. Set the kind of goal an Olympic athlete would set. Be inspired by what other people have accomplished, and be inspired by what you can accomplish.

You need something STRONG. You need something BIG. You need something that is going to act like a gigantic magnet, sitting there waiting for you in the future, pulling you towards it slowly but surely, so powerful and so clear in your mind that your whole life can’t help but be steered towards it. You need something that gives you butterflies in your stomach every time you think about it!

Because MLM is such an effective business model you might at first find it difficult to pin down a specific goal, as there is almost unlimited potential. Don’t let this stop you. Set your income goals, then add a couple more 00′s to the end of the number. Set your Customer goals, then double them. Ask yourself “What if?” and really explore the realms of possibility…

The biggest problem with goal setting for most people is setting goals too low. They are either not inspiring or too easily reached. As Steve Garvey once said “You have to set goals that are almost out of reach. If you set a goal that is attainable without much work or thought, you are stuck with something below your true talent and potential.”

The most important thing about any goal is that it needs to drive you forward. If your biggest goal doesn’t make you feel passionate in any way, then you need to think of something else.

So have a long hard think about your MLM business and think about where you want to go with it and what you want to achieve.

For Example:

1. 100 New Recruits over the next 6 months

2. $10,000 monthly residual income by this time next year

3. Be earning more than your Sponsor by your next birthday ;)

Don’t limit yourself – keep it as big as possible and go all out to pick a life changing goal that is truly phenomenal.

Once you have one, keep an eye on it at all times. You will start to feel that magnetism as you get pulled towards it, knowing your life is heading in the right direction, taking the necessary action to get there.

Remember: Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes EVERYTHING!
